Support Housing In Santa Clara

BAREC, the Bay Area Research and Extension Center, is 17 acres of land located across Valley Fair Mall on North Winchester Boulevard in Santa Clara. BAREC began it's life as an agricultural facility, but it has been long abandoned and now sits as vacant land. In the late 1990s, the State classified the land as surplus and made the decision to sell it. The City of Santa Clara, in a 5-0 vote recently, chose to develop the land into 110 single family homes and 162 low and extremely low income senior rental units.
